Trading commission is the largest single line on a crypto trade. On 2026-08-30 we opened the official fee page of 12 exchanges and compared entry-tier rates: the cheapest group sits at 0.1% taker across 6 global venues, the most expensive is Kraken at 0.8%, a 8x spread. Every row links back to its source.
Commission ranking: cheapest to most expensive
Ranked by entry-tier taker rate, which is what most market-order traders actually pay. Bitexen publishes ex-VAT, so 20% was added to put it on the same basis; without that correction the comparison would be meaningless.
| # | Exchange | Taker (entry tier) | Maker | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | OKX | 0.10% | 0.08% | page | |
| 2 | Bybit | 0.10% | 0.10% | page | |
| 3 | Bitget | 0.10% | 0.10% | page | |
| 4 | KuCoin | 0.10% | 0.10% | page | |
| 5 | Gate | 0.10% | 0.10% | page | |
| 6 | Binance (global) | 0.10% | 0.10% | page | |
| 7 | Binance TR | 0.15% | 0.10% | page | |
| 8 | BtcTurk | 0.24% | 0.12% | ilan edilen oran KDV dahil | page |
| 9 | Paribu | 0.28% | 0.12% | page | |
| 10 | Bitexen | 0.30% | 0.15% | ilan edilen %0,25, KDV hariç; %20 eklenerek düzeltildi | page |
| 11 | Coinbase | 0.60% | 0.40% | yalnız Coinbase Exchange; basit arayüzde maker/taker modeli yok | page |
| 12 | Kraken | 0.80% | 0.40% | page |
The top six share one rate: 0.1% taker is the de facto standard among global exchanges. The difference shows on the maker side, where OKX alone sits at 0.08%. Turkish exchanges look pricier on taker but keep TRY deposits and withdrawals free, which changes the arithmetic for anyone trading in lira.
How the ranking was normalised
- Entry tier, not VIP rates: the volume thresholds sit far above a typical retail account.
- Taker rate, since market orders are the default behaviour.
- Same VAT basis: 20% added where rates are published ex-VAT.
- Main spot market: TRY pairs for local venues, headline spot rate for global ones.
How many separate fees does one crypto trade carry?
Four: commission on the buy, commission on the sell, the spread and (if you move the coin) the network withdrawal fee. Fiat rails can add a fifth. Most lists show only the first. On BtcTurk the TRY-pair taker rate is %0.24, and you pay it again when you reverse the trade.
Maker and taker: same trade, two prices
Resting an order on the book makes you a maker; filling an existing order makes you a taker. On Paribu TRY markets that is %0.12 versus %0.28 ; a limit order more than halves the rate. Market orders buy speed; limit orders buy margin.
VAT inclusive or not? The detail that breaks comparisons
Turkish exchanges publish rates on different tax bases. BtcTurk states "Alım satım işlemlerinin komisyon oranlarına %20 KDV dahildir." while Bitexen states "İşlem ücretlerine KDV dahil değildir.". So Bitexen's %0.15 becomes roughly 0.18% once 20% VAT is added, while BtcTurk's %0.12 already includes it. Placing the two side by side without that correction is a measurement error, and we found no Turkish comparison that makes it. Bitexen also lists "Yıllık Hesap İşletim Ücreti: 200 TL", which has no counterpart at the other three.
Detailed comparison: tiers, token discounts, withdrawals

Why Coinbase cannot be a single row
Three products, three fee models, published in three places. The simple interface has no maker/taker model at all; it embeds a spread and charges %1 on limit orders. Advanced Trade rates sit behind a login. Only Coinbase Exchange publishes a full table: %0.40 (40bps) maker, %0.60 (60bps) taker. The "0.60%/0.40%" figure quoted around the web is that institutional table, and it does not apply to the app.
Tier thresholds: who is the lowest rate actually for?
Almost every exchange discounts by volume, but the thresholds are far above what marketing implies. Bitget needs VIP1 ≥500.000 USDT in 30-day volume for its first tier. A typical retail user stays well below that, so the advertised lowest rate is irrelevant to them. Read the top row of the tier table, not the bottom one.
Is the token discount really a discount?
Paying fees in the exchange token cuts the rate: around %25 at Binance and Bybit, %20 at Bitget and KuCoin. The discount is real but it requires holding a volatile asset, which is a position in itself. Kraken and Coinbase have no exchange token, so the line is structurally empty rather than missing. OKX removed its OKB discount entirely; tiers are now asset-based.
Withdrawal fees and limits
Network fees are fixed, so they do not scale with trade size and become the largest component on small amounts. Withdrawing USDT over TRC20 costs 5 USDT at BtcTurk and 6 USDT at Bitexen, against 1.5 USDT at Binance TR, Bitget and Gate. Note that Bybit does not publish withdrawal fees at all, and Kraken loads its table from a service that is not publicly reachable.
Limits matter as much as fees. Turkish venues cap stablecoin withdrawals under MASAK rules; global venues tie limits to KYC level or VIP tier.
| Exchange | Min. withdrawal (USDT) | Stablecoin limit | Other crypto limit | Source |

The tightest band is local: stablecoin withdrawals sit around 3,000-6,000 USD a day. For larger amounts that ceiling matters more than the commission rate; see crypto withdrawal limits and the waiting period for where those ceilings come from. Bybit and Kraken publish no minimum withdrawal figure at all.
Simple interface or order book? Multiples apart on one exchange
Kraken states "Kraken charges a 1% trading fee on instant and recurring trades and a 1.5% fee on custom orders", while its order book starts at %0.40 / %0.80. Convenience is sold at a price, and learning the order book is a one-off cost against a permanent rate cut.
Fiat rails: the quiet advantage of local exchanges
No global exchange publishes a Turkish fiat schedule; all of them say it depends on the payment method. Local exchanges keep TRY rails largely free.
| Exchange | TRY deposit | TRY withdrawal | VAT in rates | Extra fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BtcTurk | 0 TRY | 0 TRY | DAHİL | yok |
| Paribu | 0 | 0 | belirtilmemiş | yok |
| Binance TR | 0 | 0 | belirtilmemiş | yok |
| Bitexen | 0 TL | 3 TL + KDV | HARİÇ | 200 TL |

Which is cheapest for which profile?
There is no single cheapest exchange; the dominant line item depends on who you are. Based on published rates as of 2026-08-30:
| Profile | Cheapest by published rate | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Occasional buyer (TRY) | Binance TR: %0.15 taker on TRY pairs; BtcTurk %0.24, Paribu %0.28 | TRY rails are free at all three; the gap is in the taker rate |
| Stablecoin holder | Paribu: flat %0.01 / %0.10 on USDT markets | Not the same as its TRY rate |
| Daily trader (global) | OKX: published %0.0800 / %0.1000 | Bitget, KuCoin, Gate and Binance sit around 0.1% |
| Frequent transferrer | Binance TR, Bitget, Gate: 1.5 USDT band; BtcTurk 5 USDT | On small trades this line beats the commission |
| One-tap app buyer | Careful: Kraken app %1 (anlık ve düzenli), order book %0.40 | Convenience can be the priciest line |
Fees are not the only criterion. Security, proof of reserves and legal standing matter at least as much. See our reliable and best crypto exchanges comparison, and best cryptocurrency apps for the mobile side.
Six ways to pay less
- Use limit orders.
- Batch your transfers. Fixed withdrawal fees multiply.
- Check the network. Same coin, different cost per chain.
- Leave the simple interface.
- Ask whether VAT is included.
- Price the token discount against the risk of holding it.
How to verify this table yourself
Every row links to the exchange's own schedule, read on 2026-08-30. Check three things: which pair group the rate covers, which tier it belongs to, and whether VAT is included. One trap: some predictable-looking fee URLs return a success response while serving a not-found page. A working address is not proof of correct content.
Most exchanges publish no update date on their fee pages, so an undated "current rate" claim is worthless. This table is a snapshot of 2026-08-30; confirm at the source before trading.
Summary and next step
The headline commission is one part of what you pay. Maker/taker spread, tier thresholds, VAT base, token discounts, network fees and interface choice decide the rest. Find your profile in the table, verify the rate at the source, and try one limit order; the difference shows up on your own statement. If you suspect a platform, read how to spot fake crypto exchanges; for the tax side see cryptocurrency taxation.
This is not investment advice. Rates were compiled on 2026-08-30 from the exchanges' own published schedules and can change by region, account tier and time.
